Mousse Cake
Mousse cakes and other desserts have become popular relatively recently. Mostly mousse cakes are covered with exquisite
velor or mirror glaze. Mousse is an invention of the French, and in translation it means "foam". The history of the mousse began at
the end of the 19th century. In those days, French chefs called whipped fish or vegetable snacks on gelatin as mousse.
Interestingly, the pastry mousse was invented not by the pastry chef, but by the gourmet artist Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. The man
decided to combine whipped egg whites with chocolate and named the cream "Chocolate Mayonnaise". Subsequently,
it was renamed to mousse. A mousse cake usually consists of several layers: first, a base is prepared - a biscuit,
then a mousse with various flavors, creams, confit, compote and the dessert is covered with mirror glaze or chocolate velor.
